In the Meantime...

Britain's Labour party reported today that it spent a total of $13,700 in hairstyling costs for Tony Blaire's wife, Cherie, during last year's reelection campaign.

I could live on that money for a year and a half. Give it to me. I'll prove it. I'm cheap.

Apparently, this figure does not include costs Mrs. Blaire shouldered herself. She claims to have payed her hairstylist, Andre Suard, out of her own pocket when she took him on government trips. (Where did the money in her pocket come from? She is an unemployed spouse of an elected official that is paid with public dollars, euros, whatever they use over there, tea leaves.)

You have to love the Labour party's response to this "accusation." An unnamed official, in a public interview, is quoted as saying,

"So what?"
